Symptoms of Covid-19
- Loss of taste and smell
- Raised temperature (37.8 or above)
- Continuous, new dry cough
If your child displays these symptoms, DO NOT send your child to school. Please contact 119 to get advice and arrange a PCR test. If someone in your household tests positive for the Omicron variant, all members of your household will be asked to isolate. If your child is not ill but has been asked to isolate, education will continue. School will advise.
What is Isolation?
Isolation means that you must stay at home or in your garden. You must not:
- Go to work or school
- Go shopping
- Visit anyone
- Have any visitors to your home
In this way you will do your part in breaking the chain of infection.
NHS Test and Trace
In school, we will comply fully with NHS Test and Trace, where necessary. There is no longer a requirement for us to ask close contacts of any positive cases to isolate. We will work with Public Health England if there is an outbreak of COVID in school. Please see our Outbreak Management Plan for more details. Public Health England will advise our next steps. Our Local Authority has asked us to advise daily lateral flow tests for seven days for all adults in school and children who are in Key Stage 2 who have a member of their household who has tested positive for COVID.
You can book a PCR test online: book coronavirus test, or by telephoning 119. Watch a video of how to conduct a home test here.
